We found a tree lying by the side of the road. It looked like it had fallen off a truck. I made Mike rescue it and we planted it in the back yard. We poured all sorts of rooting hormone and special dirt over it in hopes that it will grow and shade our patio. Tanner and Jordan are hoping that they will finally have a place to hang their hammock. One evening the boys were home alone and it was pouring with rain and the wind was blowing terribly. Tanner said that the tree was leaning over in a 74% angle. (He's very precise, thank you Ms. Burbach) So, Tanner and Jordan ran out and staked the tree using wire, rope and wood. While Braden watched from inside, nice and warm. Nice big brother, Braden. Here is their masterpiece...plus a very lovely rainbow. Thanks for getting wet and saving the tree, you did a great job!...hopefully it'll live and grow big and strong.

Great job boys! I'm terribly impressed but not too surprised. They are smart, helpful boys. They saw that something needed to be done and they did it. What a great quality to possess! :)
I liked hearing about the boy's concern for the tree. Looks like they used just enough stakes too, and a few fence posts. I'd say that tree isn't going anywhere when the winds blow!
